Whether it’s hobnobbing at your reception or table hopping at your sit-down-do, if your party needs perking up – or simply just an icebreaker – live caricatures will be the cherry on your cake.

Big birthday or just a good excuse for a party, I’ll mingle with your guests and draw quick fire caricatures, while making sure we all have a good giggle with the pictures. From intimate birthday drinks to a full-blown surprise bash, I’ll fit around your plans and make sure the birthday person gets their moment.
Staff parties, company anniversaries, retirement dos and team celebrations all benefit from something that gets colleagues giggling. I’ll work my way around the gathering, drawing over drinks or between tables. Choose classic pen-and-paper caricatures or live iPad drawings, with the option to include your company logo or event details in the digital artwork.
Mess balls, regimental dinners and military celebrations bring a smart setting and plenty of characters to draw. I’ll mingle during reception drinks or work around the tables, taking my cue from your organiser and pausing for toasts, speeches and formal proceedings. We’ll agree timings, dress requirements and any access arrangements beforehand, leaving you to enjoy the evening and your colleagues’ newly discovered cartoon potential.
A little festive spirit and some engaging fun with the guests, with something for the office wall come January. I’ll mingle during Christmas drinks, draw around the tables at a festive lunch or get guests involved at your evening do. For parties with a band or DJ, drawing earlier gives everyone time to enjoy the chatter and the caricatures before the dance floor takes over.
Good food, good company and something fun between courses. I’ll move around the tables, chatting and drawing guests where they’re sitting, so nobody needs to abandon their dinner to join a queue. Private dining, celebration lunches, club dinners and banquets all work well. I’ll coordinate with the host or catering team, fitting around service and putting the pen down for speeches.
Garden parties, barbecues, summer receptions and company fun days give me plenty of room to roam. I’ll draw guests as they relax, mingle and make the most of the weather. A little shade and somewhere to retreat if the British summer gets ideas are always useful. For digital setups with a screen or printing, we’ll also arrange a sheltered position and suitable power.
Graduation balls, university parties, proms and leavers’ celebrations deserve a souvenir with a bit of personality. I’ll draw guests during the reception or while they’re mingling, giving friends something to gather round and laugh about. Individuals, couples and small groups can be drawn.
Anniversaries, reunions, engagement parties and family get-togethers are perfect for a few shared laughs. I’ll move between generations, drawing guests as they chat and enjoy themselves. Couples and small family groups can share a picture, allowing a little extra time for each face. Whether you’re celebrating fifty years together or finally getting everyone in one room, there’ll be some very personal souvenirs.

The price depends on your date, location, booking length and whether you choose classic or digital caricatures. Optional extras, such as digital printing or themed artwork, also affect the quote. Send me your plans and I’ll put together a price for your event, so you know what’s included before booking. Your guests don’t pay separately for their pictures.
I’m typically booked for up to three hours, although longer bookings are possible. As a guide, classic caricatures take around three to four minutes per person, while digital drawings usually take around five. Guest interaction and group pictures also affect the pace, so tell me your guest numbers and timings and I’ll recommend a suitable booking length.
I’m very much a walkabout entertainer, moving between groups and tables, chatting and drawing as I go. Guests can carry on enjoying the party while their caricature takes shape, and friends are welcome to watch. If you prefer, I can also work from a fixed drawing spot. Both paper and iPad caricatures work as roaming entertainment, while a big-screen display needs a dedicated position (see digital caricatures).
With classic caricatures, guests receive their original drawing on A3 paper, or A4 if preferred, rolled and secured to take home. Digital caricatures are sent to guests’ phones by email, QR code or AirDrop, so they’re easy to keep and share. You can also add on-the-spot postcard prints to a digital booking.
Yes, couples and small groups can share a caricature, and children are welcome too. However, each extra face takes more time, so larger groups need a little planning. Let me know beforehand if you’d particularly like a picture of a family group, so we can make time for it.
They’re cheeky and good-humoured, with the emphasis on making sure the ‘victim’ enjoys the experience and the results. Some guests love plenty of exaggeration, while others prefer a gentler approach. I take my cue from the person I’m drawing, so the humour suits them. There’s no obligation to be drawn, either – watching your friends is part of the entertainment.
Yes, digital caricatures are particularly good for including personalised backgrounds, names, dates and company logos. For example, the artwork could reflect a special birthday, a Christmas party or a fancy-dress theme. We’ll agree the design beforehand, so it’s ready for the occasion. I then draw each guest’s caricature live into the prepared artwork.
For roaming caricatures, I bring my materials and simply need enough light and room to move between guests. A digital setup with a screen or printer needs a suitable position and access to power, which we’ll arrange beforehand. I can also draw at outdoor parties, weather permitting, provided there’s shade and somewhere sheltered if the weather turns.
I’m based in Bath and provide party caricatures across the UK, including London, Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester and Cardiff. I also travel internationally for private celebrations and company events.
